Gem Laboratory Reports

There are many gem laboratories around world that offers reports. However, these are the most common when it comes to gem stones/precious stones: GRS, Gubelin, SSEF & AGL.

Each reports from each laboratories will have their own indentification numbers or codes that allows you to verify the authenticity of the report, this is for the benefit of both the vendors and consumer.

For grading consistency, most labs follow similar practices to ensure accuracy and avoid conflicts of interest. How all this is executed does vary from lab to lab, including certain details of what is written in the reports.

When an item is exceptionally rare and beautiful, they will often have multiple lab reports. This does not indicate one lab is better than another, but functions as a second, separate gemological opinion to ensure authenticity.
