The Vineyard Brooch
The Vineyard Collection: Handcrafted Ruby & Gold Brooch
Elevate your collection with this exquisite statement piece from The Vineyard Collection. Inspired by the lush abundance of a summer harvest, this brooch is a masterclass in fine jewellery craftsmanship, blending organic form with vibrant, high-end materials.
Metal: 11g of solid 14k Yellow Gold, featuring a meticulously hand-etched "brushed" texture on the leaves for a realistic, vintage-inspired finish.
Gemstones: A stunning cluster of 11.08ct Natural Rubies, hand-set to mimic a ripe bunch of grapes. The deep, pigeon-blood red hues of the rubies offer an incredible "fire" when caught by the light.
Design: A botanical grape cluster motif, symbolizing prosperity and life.
Why It’s Special
This isn't just a brooch; it's a wearable work of art. The weight of the 11g gold frame provides a luxurious, substantial feel, while the over 11 carats of natural rubies ensure a brilliant shimmer from every angle. Whether pinned to a silk lapel or a velvet evening gown, it adds an unmistakable air of timeless elegance.
Expert Note: The contrast between the matte-finished gold leaves and the high-polish brilliance of the natural rubies creates a dynamic visual depth rarely seen in contemporary jewellery.Jewellery Care & Maintenance Guide
Preserving the brilliance and integrity of your fine gemstones.
At Gem Solutions Ltd., we understand that fine jewellery is both a financial investment and a sentimental treasure. Proper care ensures that your gemstones—especially delicate ones like emeralds—retain their luster for generations.
1. The Golden Rule: The "Last On, First Off" Policy
To protect your jewelry from chemical damage:
Last On: Put your jewelry on after applying makeup, perfume, hairspray, and lotions. Chemicals in these products can dull the surface of gold and cloud the clarity of gemstones.
First Off: Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming (chlorine is highly corrosive), or performing household cleaning.
2. Specialized Care for Emeralds
Emeralds require unique handling due to their natural inclusions and common clarity enhancements (oiling/resins).
NO Ultrasonic Cleaners: Never place an emerald in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. The vibrations and heat can cause oils to leak out or even shatter the stone along internal reach-to-surface fractures.
Avoid Extreme Heat: High temperatures (from stovetops or even hair dryers) can dry out the natural oils used to enhance the stone, making inclusions more visible.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use acetone, bleach, or jewelry "dips."
3. How to Clean at Home (Safe Method)
For most gemstones (Diamonds, Sapphires, Rubies, and Emeralds):
Prepare a Solution: Use a bowl of lukewarm water with a few drops of mild, fragrance-free dish soap.
Soak: Let the piece soak for 1–2 minutes.
Gentle Brush: Use a very soft baby toothbrush to gently clean behind the setting where dust and oils accumulate.
Rinse & Dry: Rinse under lukewarm running water (ensure the drain is plugged!) and pat dry with a lint-free microfiber cloth.
4. Storage & Handling
Separate Compartments: Gemstones vary in hardness. A diamond can easily scratch an emerald or a pearl. Store each piece in its own soft pouch or a lined jewelry box.
Prong Checks: Over time, gold prongs can wear down or snag. We recommend a professional "prong check" every six months to ensure your stones are secure.
5. Professional Re-Oiling
For emeralds, the natural oils used to enhance clarity may eventually dry out over several years. If your emerald appears "whiter" or more included than when you first purchased it, it may be time for a professional cleaning and re-oiling at our laboratory.
Note: If your jewelry features "organic" gems like Pearls, Opals, or Turquoise, do not soak them at all. Simply wipe them with a damp, soft cloth after wearing.
